Wow, what a trip! I decided to spend the next week after our formal class ended over in China, visiting a friend and bumming around. Great decision. Beijing is at once a very big and very small part of China; the experiences I had in the northern cities of Harbin and Mudanjiang were just as culturally diverse and enlightening!
So my China rundown will start later this week. Until then some interesting factoids my jet-lagged brain has come up with.
I spent 2 weeks in China on:
30 hours on planes
18 hours on trains
4 hours in taxis
Less than $10/day on food
More than 6gb of pictures and video
about 2c/min to call the US (thanks Skype and Gizmo!)
0 hours in an eastern style toilet.
…all for less than $1500 (I cheated and used miles for the US-China flight).
