Hi Everyone! Joel (2nd year) who you’ve heard a lot from on this blog has asked me to help out and discuss life as a first year MBA. You’ll be hearing my recap on the first semester, details about the second semester and coverage on what I think the most valuable assets of our school are. Every now and then I’ll get bored and introduce some people from our class that you’ll (hopefully) see around our school next year. So, to start off, here is me:

I come from a tech background. I graduated from Loyola University, which is literally next door to Tulane. I then moved abroad for nearly three years to sew my wild oats. That ended in a few entrepreneurial ventures, some that went “sideways” and some that continue successfully to this day. OkMango.com is my internet consulting outfit. Check it out.
I came to Tulane because I love New Orleans and needed more education in the hard sciences of business. I also came because of the strength in entrepreneurship and the small size of the class (which is both a blessing and a curse). At heart I am an entrepreneur. I like figuring out how to make money and working with new people all the time. Tulane is a great school in a great place with fantastic resources. I am 100% happy about the decision I made and here you’ll find out why. Don’t get me wrong, there are frustrations, but I’ll give you those too.
These are my main interests/vices at the moment:
- Graphic design
- Cartoons (If you find one of the plasmas in the b-school switched to Nick Jr. or Cartoon Network, that’s me. We can only watch so much sportscenter.)
- The real estate market (mostly commercial)
- Fiction (currently The Picture of Dorian Grey for the 6th time)
Hope to see you around, at one of the admitted student weekends or otherwise!
