NY Times article about a lawsuit brought against a Gulf Coast company helping with Katrina rebuilding. It seems the workers, many of whom were recruited from India and the USA, didn’t know they were being brought over temporarily. They thought the would gain permanent resident status! I don’t know who to blame more on this one: if it sounds too good to be true…you know the rest.
Our Mayor will cold cock you! I’ve been sitting on this a while. A friend tipped me off (thanks E!) to an interview New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin did late last month. My favorite quote:
I’ve got coverage. If somebody approach me wrong, I’m going to cold cock them. That’s the bottom line. You can come with that foolishness if you want, but you’ll see a side of Ray Nagin that you haven’t seen.
