I just had an interesting conversation w/Bill Sandefer - Director of Admissions at the Freeman School - about the current state of the Class of 2010.
The class size will be about 100 kids, which is bigger than my class (59) or this year’s class (74). 100 is right around the number we had before Katrina hit. This is a great number for the Freeman School: our biggest classroom holds 114, but that’s a seminar room. The normal classrooms hold about 60 kids, so a 100 kid class size get split to 50. Of course your elective classes may be as small as 7 or 8 kids, but the core classes, Accounting, Stats, Finance, Marketing, will be big. 50 kids big isn’t that bad, especially in our mail classrooms. The tiered seating and office chairs make the rooms feel big and everyone has more than enough space to spread out books, laptop and notepad.
So if you’re thinking about applying to the Freeman School, there’s lots of space still available. And the weekend’s here, so get crackin! As for me, well we’ve got a little thing known as Oshun going on tonight. It’s Mardi Gras Time!
Bill also alluded to some good news about the Freeman School coming out next week. I wasn’t able to get much more than that, so stay tuned!
Have a great weekend,
