The New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival starts on the 2nd and goes till the 5th @ La Nuit Theatre on Freret.

And dont forget to check out the Freret Street Festival on saturday featuring Kermit Ruffins & the Barbecue Swingers, Walter “Wolfman” Washington & the Roadmasters, Jo “Cool” Davis, Fredy Omar con su Banda, Soul Rebels, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, Johnny Sketch & the Dirty Notes, Egg Yolk Jubilee, Gringo Do Choro, Wild Mohicans Mardi Gras Indians, An Afternoon of Jazz Featuring Troi Bechet, Pearlie Tyler, Leah Chase, Sharon Martin, Gregory Thompson, and Philip Manual.

Handsome Willy’s will be having a free BBQ on friday @ 6ish and DJ Tony Skratchere spinning hip hop starting @ 10pm.

There is a Musician’s Clinic benefit @ One Eyed Jacks this friday @ 10pm with local rock bands Big Blue Marble, Bad Off, and Metronome the City.

Defend New Orleans is throwing their monthly indie dance party “Action, Action, Reaction” @ the Circle Bar on friday. Where something blue is the theme.
